										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Commercially available zinc anodes are available in two alloys for use in different environments. Zinc may corrode quickly at temperatures above 120°F (50°C), especially in the presence of carbonates, which can lead to the corrosion of steel. However, zinc is useful in seawater applications as its low driving potential against steel is insufficient to cause damage to most paints, and its current output can vary with demand, making it self-controlling. Unlike other metals, zinc anodes do not generate hydrogen gas or pose a risk of thermite sparking.</p>
